Rust

The days flow like water
In rushing torrent and drip alike
Carrying me ever onward to desert seas
Where I’ll rust away in drought
To join the dust of ages

Boil

my nights are claimed by sleep
but in the sunshine
cracks to hell
appear where tears drop
and then boil back out

Watch

Like a bottle in a current
I go
As you stand on shore
Afraid to get wet
And watch me float away

Hidden

Who am I
Hidden so well in plain sight
You can’t find me
And I wonder
If you did that
On purpose

Choking

What remains
     after we don’t let go
   out of clutching fear
is the choking fear of not letting go
of the past yet to come
   for the future
      we could have had

Bones

In repose
Mighty giants stand
Scoffing at tiny seeds
Who will one day feast on their bones

Seed

I knew you wouldn’t come
Because I felt you plant the seed
In the space between us
Split by the impotent dreams
Of passionate embraces
And wedged open
By the secret of me for you
