Gems

I see the grass grown long
With last night’s patter of drops
Gems dusted upon the blades
Sparkling in brilliant morning light
Rainbow and diamond glints
Under dark Seattle spring clouds
My mood a perfect mirror
In gladness for another day
To feel warm sun upon skin
In bower surrounded by riot of green
For today’s errand of duty
To chronicle treasures from a life
Now hidden in eternal shade
