Hey, baby, smile!
Shouts the dude
Interrupting my reverie
Catching me short
Surprising me into response
The barrel smokes after a good one
Tink. Tink. Tink-tink. Tink-tink-tink-tink.
Goes the imaginary shell on the sidewalk
Settling to rest next to the dude
Who will no longer demand I perform for him
I walk away
With a smile on my face
