Calls

The coyote calls
Starlight falls upon the boughs
Spring nights are alive

Goddess

Sclerotic words ossify within my head
Making it heavier with every passing moment
Weighting me down to nod and jerk
Fain gravity causes me to tumble in fear of trampling
By horses and men in dizzy rushing
While the blue sky above calms me so

Lying in pieces in the acid rain
Dissolves these calcite cancers like heavenly chemo
Leaving naught but runny fluids
Æther from my ichor
To fill my cup overflowing in senses drowned
With stewed memories in pot for a meal

Sinew tears supple flesh in reflected reverie
Beneath giant stars and hungry desire
In vain attempt to plug black holes spewing scream
That quiet not in good nights of timeless bubble
Where lies bind tighter than ropes
And fear holds faster than carabiners in pitons

Bitter are tastes of freedom served from hands of deceit
Yet who is the servant and who is the served
When sleeping goddess is awakened for her feast
Demanding tribute for seat at table and sovereign rule
While mortal anger brews under icy tyrannical wrath
Counting fealty to unexpected sums

The stream washes all clear in time
Revealing in algorithmic precision
Synchronous rhythmic chants to imagined heavens
And asynchronous tesserae flows of reality
Which goddess surfs in laughing present
Knowing the gates have past

Fucks

I used to care
But the fucks
They dried up
After choking on dusty dreams
Poured down my throat
By those who used to fuck me

Gambol

It’s all a gamble
So enjoy a gambol
From time to time
In fragrant fields of thyme
Take a stroll on the beach
Or swing from a beech

Stuff is always due
And there’s always plenty to do
Just don’t be bored
Because one day you’ll be stiff as a board
So let it all go
Before you go mad like Van Gogh

Reckless

I yearn to drive the tangents
At speeds reckless
To feel the pull of motion
Freeing me from the pedestrian

Cleaved

The past falls away
As if cleaved
Leaving us lighter
To enter the future
But aching at the loss

Coins

Coins of the realm
Swim like fry to the sea
Becoming sunken treasure
For those willing to plunder
Davey Jones’s locker
